Exclusive: KSI backed to ‘knock out’ Tommy Fury by sparring partner and ex Love Islander Idris Virgo

Former Love Island contestant Idris Virgo believes KSI can knock out Tommy Fury inside four rounds when the two men clash this Saturday night in Manchester.

Virgo, who was one of KSI’s sparring partners during the lead up to the fight, is confident the YouTuber-turned boxer can continue his unbeaten run against Fury.

KSI returns to action for the first time since his controversial bout with Joe Fournier which ultimately ended in a no contest due to an elbow strike by the 30-year-old.

Fury, on the other hand, arrives in Manchester on the back of his split decision victory against Jake Paul last February.

The half-brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury boasts more experience in the professional ranks, with a 9-0 record to his name.

Nevertheless, Virgo is backing KSI to knock out the former Love Island contestant.

“I see KSI knocking out Tommy Fury 100 per cent,” Virgo told Planet Sport. “I got my prediction right on my fight, I’m going to get this prediction right.

“I just don’t see Tommy Fury going the distance with KSI. And if he does, I still think KSI wins on points.

“I see KSI knocking him out. Second round or the fourth round, KSI will knock out Tommy Fury. One hundred per cent.”

Virgo has previously suggested that Fury may leave boxing and head in a different direction following the KSI bout.

When asked whether he would be interested in fighting the 24-year-old, Virgo said: “I wouldn’t mind fighting Tommy Fury because I still got my vendetta with him. I still think he’s a coward.

“I do believe after the fight against KSI, I don’t think Tommy Fury would want to come near me because he’s just going to get dusted.”

Virgo has himself entered the influencer boxing scene and has already picked up victories over Anthony Taylor and, most recently, Aaron Chalmers.

Unlike many in the space, Virgo has a professional boxing background, racking up a 12-0-1 record.

The 30-year-old will be part of the broadcasting team for Saturday’s Misfits event.
