Daniel Hillier shines bright to lead weather-delayed Qatar Masters
New Zealand's Daniel Hillier mounted a strong finish to grab a two-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
Hillier completed a second consecutive 65 at Doha Golf Club when the delayed second round was finished on Saturday morning, a legacy of play being interrupted twice on Thursday due to bad weather.
The British Masters winner has yet to drop a shot this week, a feat matched by nearest challenger Robert MacIntyre, the Ryder Cup winner posting a second successive 66 to reach 12 under par.
Defending champion Ewen Ferguson and Spain's Santiago Tarrio lie three shots off the lead on 11 under.
"I think it's one of the only times I've gone bogey-free through 36 holes so that's pretty cool," Hillier said.
"I've got a game plan that I'm sticking to and it's working, so I'll do that over the next couple of days."
