Bears @ Commanders tips: Game pick and best prop bets for Thursday Night Football

The Chicago Bears (0-4) look to get off the mark when they travel to face the Washington Commanders (2-2) on Thursday (1.15am BST, Friday).

Yep. This game probably sounded better back when the schedule was set and the Thursday Night Football selections were made for the NFL season.

Bears @ Commanders game pick

Chicago Bears have made a dire 0-4 start. The season is looking over before it’s really begun and they have all sorts of personnel problems.

Chase Claypool’s relationship with the franchise is deteriorating and the Bears will be without a major chunk of their secondary due to injury.

Washington are pretty healthy, they’re 2-2 to start the season and they took the Eagles to overtime in a 34-31 loss last weekend.

So, with the most obvious of selections starting us in the face, experience dictates we should bet on the Bears!

Chicago will be desperate for a win and make no mistake, this is a winnable game. It looks a favourable matchup and Justin Fields, who played well last week, will be able to throw for good yardage.

There’s a lot of room for manoeuvre between losing a game and losing by a touchdown or more. The line seems a little overreactive. Chicago can keep this one close.

Bet: Chicago Bears +7.5 / Over 44 Points

Bears @ Commanders prop bets

Cole Kmet caught two of Fields’ four touchdown passes last week. It may not be easy for a tight end against the Commanders, but Fields will surely target him.

Prop: Cole Kmet Over 30.5 Receiving Yards / Cole Kmet Over 3.5 Receptions

The Bears haven’t utilised Fields’ ability to rush as much as they should have and he threw for 335 yards last week. The expectation still seems to be he’ll rush, so this line looks low.

Prop: Justin Fields Over 193.5 Passing Yards

Sam Howell has rushed for 13 yards or more in three of four. The Bears have allowed Jordan Love, Baker Mayfield, Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson to go for at least 12.

Prop: Sam Howell Over 12.5 Rushing Yards
