Liverpool vs Toulouse tips and predictions: Jota to help Reds run riot at Anfield

Planet Sport Bet's Robbie Savage thinks that Liverpool will record a comfortable victory against Ligue 1 side Toulouse in the Europa League.

I’m going for Liverpool at Anfield. I think it will be a comfortable night.

Toulouse, I think they’re mid-table in Ligue 1, so I’m going with a Liverpool win. Liverpool to win 3-0.

Robbie’s Tip: Liverpool 3-0 Toulouse

Liverpool vs Toulouse team news

Jurgen Klopp could rotate heavily on Thursday with the likes of Jarell Quansah, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch and Darwin Nunez starting.

Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic and Ben Doak are all injury doubts for the Reds.

The visitors are likely to set up in a 3-4-3 that may resemble a defensive 5-4-1 at times, with Cristian Casseres, Niklas Schmidt and Vincent Sierro packing the midfield.

Thijs Dallinga could lead the line in the absence of the main man Zakaria Aboukhlal.

Key stats

- Liverpool have won 12 of 15 games against French clubs at Anfield
- Liverpool are unbeaten in last 10 Europa League group-stage matches
- Diogo Jota has scored seven goals in six Europa League appearances
- Toulouse are 10th in Ligue 1 with two wins from nine games to their name

Planet Sport’s other bets to consider

Liverpool have looked pretty comfortable at home this season, winning all six of their matches by a two-goal margin, so immediately the -1.5 Asian handicap is of interest.

Leicester and Bournemouth did take the lead at Anfield, while four of those games weren’t put to bed until the final five minutes, so they’ll do well not to let Toulouse hang around.

Although the French side have struggled for wins, they have avoided defeat in nine of 11 and picked up four points in the group so far, making them Liverpool’s main challenger.

A lot will depend on how many changes Klopp decides to make. If the Reds go full strength, they have the quality to hammer anyone. On the other hand, Toulouse are plucky and a goal isn’t beyond them.

If Liverpool do indeed make a clumsy start then maybe there’s value in chancing an early away goal, and it may be best to stick to goals-based bets to avoid coming unstuck on the handicap.

It’s worth noting that Diogo Jota has found the net seven times in six Europa League appearances. The diminutive Portuguese attacker is averaging a goal every 66 minutes.
