Verdict

Leicester’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday was just their second defeat of the new season.

The Foxes are flying in the Championship and could return to the top of the standings with a victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Enzo Maresca’s men have won seven from eight games in the competition, scoring 14 goals and conceding just five.

Leicester have also won all four of their away Championship games and are arguably one of the most feared sides in the competition.

Blackburn, on the other hand, head into Sunday’s match on the back of a 5-2 Carabao Cup victory over Cardiff.

Prior to that, Rovers lost three of their last four Championship games, conceding 11 goals during that period.

Manager Jon Dahl Tomasson will be determined to take their cup form into the league considering his side sit 17th in the table.

While Leicester are the favourites to take all three points, Blackburn will be encouraged by the fact they’re unbeaten against the Foxes at home in seven meetings.

The last encounter between the two clubs took place last February in the FA Cup, with Rovers running out 2-1 winners at the King Power Stadium.

Despite their historical edge, our recommendation is to back Leicester.

The Foxes are in sensational form in the league, and they’ve scored in all but one of their 11 competitive games this season.

With that in mind, Leicester to win and over 2.5 goals is the way to go.
