Celtic and Atletico Madrid will meet in the Champions League on Wednesday and we’re predicting a thumping victory for the visitors.
Despite being a prolific goalscorer as a teenager for Real Madrid Castilla, Morata struggled to break into the Real Madrid first team under both Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti.
After a successful spell at Juventus, he was brought back to Real Madrid before departing for Chelsea in 2017.
His time in West London was largely disappointing for all parties and Morata quickly rejoined Atletico Madrid, initially on loan and then permanently.
Atletico loaned him to Juventus for one year with an option to buy for £45million at the end of the 2020/21 season, but Juventus instead opted to extend the loan for the 2021/22 season.
Morata made his debut for the first team on 12 December 2010 as a substitute for Angel Di Maria in a 3-1 victory over Real Zaragoza. However, Morata struggled to dislodge Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain in the first team.
Morata's most prolific season in his first spell at Real Madrid was 2013/14, when he scored nine goals in 34 matches in all competitions under Carlo Ancelotti. He was able to play his part in the club's historic 10th UEFA Champions League title - Real Madrid became the first, and only, club to reach this milestone.
After the 2013/14 season, Morata was sold to Juventus for a reported €20million with the option for Real Madrid to buy him back.
Morata enjoyed a successful first season at Juve and famously scored home and away in a semi-final victory over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
After two seasons at Juventus, Real Madrid brought the Spaniard back to the Bernabue. Morata scored 20 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions as Real Madrid won La Liga, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup under Zinedine Zidane.
On 19 July 2017, Morata left Real Madrid to join Chelsea for a reported initial fee of £58million, a club record for the Blues at the time.
During his first spell at Juventus, Morata scored 27 goals in 93 appearances, winning Serie A titles in 2014/15 and 2015/16 as well as the Coppa Italia in both of those seasons and the 2015 Supercoppa Italiana.
Despite his heroics in the semi-final against Real Madrid in the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League, Juventus fell at the final hurdle and were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona in the final.
Morata returned to Atletico Madrid on loan for the second half of the 2018/19 season and made his move permanent for the 2019/20 campaign. He scored 22 goals in 61 appearances for Atleti before being loaned out to Juventus for the 2020/21 campaign.
Morata was a key player for Spain from U17 level upwards and was part of the teams which won the U19 UEFA European Championship in 2011 and the U21 UEFA European Championship in 2013 - winning the Golden Boot award in both tournaments as the competition's top scorer.
Morata made his senior international debut on 15 November 2014, coming on as a substitute for Isco in a 3-0 victory over Belarus in UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying. On 27 March 2015, he scored his first goal for the senior national team - the winner in a 1-0 win over Ukraine in another Euro qualifier.
After making the Euro 2016 squad, Morata scored a brace against Turkey and another goal against Croatia. However, he was omitted from Spain's FIFA World Cup 2018 squad after a poor season for Chelsea.
Morata earned his recall after the tournament and continued to score regularly for Spain when selected, helping him to regain his place in the squad.
After his return to form for both club and country, Morata was called up to Luis Enrique's Euro 2020 squad.
Morata featured in all six of Spain's games in the tournament, and his three goals, including the equaliser against Italy in the semi-finals, means he now has six overall in European Championships, making him Spain's top scorer in the competition.
Despite his equaliser against Italy, Spain were defeated on penalties in the semi-final, with Gianluigi Donnarumma saving Morata's penalty in the shootout.
According to Tuttosport, Morata costs Juventus just short of £7milllion per year in salary. This works out to around £130,000 per week.
Talksport reported while Morata was at Chelsea that he was the fourth-highest earner out of all Premier League players, bringing in £155,000 per week in salary.
